Die bekannte englische Serie A Dozen A Day, die Vorübungen und viele Technik-Übungen für den Pianisten zum Inhalt hat, gibt es nun in der deutschen Übersetzung. Ziel der Ausgaben ist die Unterstützung und Stärkung der Hände sowie die Flexibilität der Finger. Band 1. Das Vorwort der Autorin Edna-Mae Burnam: Viele Leute machen jeden Morgen Frühsport, bevor sie zur Arbeit gehen. Genauso sollten wir jeden Tag mit unseren Fingern Übungen machen bevor wir mit unserem Klavierspiel beginnen. Der Sinn dieses Buches ist es, die Entwicklung kräftiger Hände und beweglicher Finger zu fördern. Müh dich nicht ab, die ersten 12 Übungen gleich in der ersten Woche komplett zu erlernen! Nimm dir zunächst zwei oder drei Übungen vor und mach sie jeden Tag vor dem Klavierspiel. Wenn du diese gemeistert hast, füge Schritt für Schritt weitere hinzu, bis du die 12 Übungen perfekt beherrschst. Wenn du das erste Dutzend Buch 1 geschafft und perfektioniert hast, kannst du mit Buch 2 auf dieselbe Weise vorgehen, ebenso mit den folgenden Bänden. Viele dieser Übungen können beliebig transponiert werden, tatsächlich ist das Transponieren in verschiedene Tonarten sehr empfehlenswert und sorgt für Kreativität und Abwechslung.
